Our reference 16800 here is simply a dream and the perfect mix for all those who are already looking for the newer case with sapphire crystal, but still want the old charm of the matt dials.
The matt “Pallettoni” dial, i.e. with the large (maxi) hour indices, is certainly the highlight of the watch.
The luminous material on both the dial and the hands is evenly aged and has never been replaced. The black, matt print of the dial is not deep black but has a slight, grayish shimmer in the sun and makes the watch the special piece that it is.
In addition to the magnificent dial, the case is in fantastic condition. It is neither chipped nor has any deep scratches or damage. It's hard to believe that the watch is already a good 40 years old.
The Oyster bracelet with diver's extension also shows hardly any stretch and is simply in fantastic condition.
The watch also comes in a collector's set with the original Italian papers (1983), the green Rolex case, calendar, translation, Submariner & Oyster booklet, calendar, Submariner anchor, Rolex seal and, of course, the box and outer carton. It doesn't get any better than this!
The watch has been fully checked by our workshop and comes with a 1-year guarantee.
