Tick-Tack, Tick-Tack, Tick-Tack....

A few years ago, when the author of this text brought in his own OysterQuartz, for service at a well-known German concessionaire, he was sent out of the store with the following statement, "We don't take those. That's not a real Rolex, they don't tick." Well, someone wasn't ticking correctly himself....

This story shows how extraordinary the Rolex OysterQuartz is. Not only the design is extraordinary compared to other Rolex models, but also the quartz movement sets the watch apart from all others. After more than 5 years of development, the watch was introduced in 1976. At that time, everyone thought quartz movements were the future. As we know, it came differently. And because things turned out so differently, only about 25,000 pieces were built across all Oyster-Quartz model variants until 2001. Therefore, you will not often come across this model and it represents an extremely good analge.

The watch is in a used condition. The edges are sharp, but show some scratches and light nicks. The crystal has a small chip at 6 o'clock. This is only apparent upon closer inspection.

The patina of the dial and hands is fantastic.

The band has very little stretch with existing signs of wear. The watch comes with 16 band elements and therefore fits almost every wrist.

Inside is the Qartz movement 5035 which oscillates with a rate deviation of ONLY about 1 minute per year. The average battery life is 3 years.

The watch has been fully serviced by our workshop and comes with a 2 year warranty.
