The watch for the extraordinary things!
When Sir
Edmund Hillary was asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest in the
1920s, he replied, "Because it's there." Nothing describes the
adventurous spirit of people better. People push into places where no
one has gone before, pushing the limits of what is possible simply
because things are there and it is supposedly not possible. It was for
these extraordinary deeds that the Rolex Explorer was launched in 1953,
shortly after the first ascent of Mt. Everest by that very same Sir
Edmund Hillary.
The simple design with the Arabic numerals at 3, 6
and 9 should ensure maximum readability and the movement without date
or other technical refinements, best reliability in all extreme
conditions.
The Explorer we offer with the reference 114270 dates
from 2002. The case of the watch is in a, according to the age, good
condition. Scratches and minor quirks are visible on the case. The strap
is in equally good condition with wear marks and comes with Oyster-Lock
clasp. We have specifically not polished the case and band to preserve
the substance and charm of the watch. The movement was of course
overhauled.
The clasp is marked "DT10" and therefore from October 2002, perfectly matching the serial number of the watch.
On the case cover is still the original Rolex seal.
The heart of the Explorer offers the indestructible caliber 3130 with approx. 42h power reserve.
The watch was fully serviced by our atelier and comes with 2 years warranty.
