A True Classic!

A beautiful LeCoultre Powermatic with the reference 8986 from 1948 is available for sale – equipped with the legendary hammer-strike caliber 481. This early automatic movement with power reserve indicator is considered one of the most technically and aesthetically appealing movements of the post-war period.

The watch is in fantastic condition. It was completely restored by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 2005, which is impressively reflected in its overall appearance: the ivory-colored dial is absolutely flawless, as are the delicate hands. Only the upper left lug shows slight wear to the gold plating, as well as minimal oxidation on the lower left side of the case – both barely visible and authentic to its age.

The 33 mm case is made of 10K gold-filled and features the classic design language of the late 1940s. This Powermatic was produced specifically for the American market and is distinguished by the elegant power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock – a technical highlight of its time. An exceptionally beautiful and well-documented vintage LeCoultre – technically interesting, visually elegant, and rarely found in this condition.

The watch has been checked by our workshop and comes with a 1-year warranty.
