Reneé-Paul Jeanneret's Dream in Green!
The launch of the Submariner in 1953 was the brainchild of the then Rolex director Reneé-Paul Jeanneret. He wanted a diver's watch that was technically and functionally up to date, but at the same time had such an elegant design that it could be worn with a suit without hesitation. Thus the Submariner was born. The watch with which you could sit in a board meeting in the morning and go diving in the Mediterranean with Jacques Cousteau at lunchtime.
Our reference 16610 was purchased in May 1992. The watch comes with the complete full set and the original purchase invoice for 3,750 marks.
The watch case is in good condition with strong lugs and only very light polishing over the last few decades. There are slight signs of wear. Slight signs of wear are visible on the bezel. There is a larger scratch at 3 o'clock.
The tape has slight age-related stretch. Visually, it is in very good condition with slight signs of wear.
Inside, the caliber 3135 has been ticking since 1988 and, like every Rolex movement, it will perform its service for decades without complaint if treated well.
The watch has been fully checked by our workshop and comes with a 1-year guarantee.
