For sale is a Vacheron Constantin Overseas with the reference 42042/423A, an iconic first-generation sports classic and symbol of the elegant combination of haute horlogerie and sporty functionality.
The Overseas 42042 was introduced in the late 1990s as the successor to the “222” and marked the beginning of the modern Overseas line – a model that combined the DNA of Vacheron Constantin with sporty versatility. The characteristic Maltese cross-shaped bezel, the integrated stainless steel bracelet, and the finely crafted automatic movement make this watch one of VC's most sought-after models.
Our watch was purchased in December 2000 and comes as a complete full set with box, papers, and booklet. It is in a worn, honest condition with external signs of wear on the case and bracelet that are consistent with its age and use. The stainless steel bracelet shows slight stretch but remains solid and comfortable on the wrist.
The dial and hands are immaculately preserved – clear, brilliant and without discoloration or oxidation.
The sapphire crystal shows slight scratches, which do not detract from the overall impression.
